Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt. |
My sister started a quilt many years ago. It was a Grandmother Flower Garden quilt. She had cut out all the center yellow pieces and next contrasting flower blocks. When she went to school (college) she gave me the box of blocks.
I stitched it together by hand one block at a time. This project has taken a long time to finish and I have stuffed into that box and taken out many times. This year I finally finished putting the last block in, time to give it back to her so she can get it quilted. I hope the fabric is not rotten, it was started in about 1966-67. Yeah an antique quilt top!
I have made several quilts with this pattern, but the blocks were a lot larger. Each of my kids have a top waiting in line to be quilted. I hope I live long enough.
I told them they were their wedding quilt. Janet and Paula have been married about 13 years. I really don't have room for the frames in this house. Neck surgery has slowed me down also.
This is the quilt top Donald and Pam, that I just finished.
